Zero Waste Program for Semenyih area School (Local Agenda 21) for DUN Semenyih was held on 22nd July 2016 (Friday) at Dewan Orang Ramai Bandar Rinching. The program was organized by Kajang Municipal Council and officiated by En Izuddin Bin Ramli, Pemangku Pengarah Jabatan Pengurusan Sisa Pepejal Dan Pembersihan Awam.
The program intended to set nature cycle as an example where the waste is a source to other needs. The implementation of this concept is to reduce waste disposal to the nature/landfill. The concept to invite us to maximize recycle, minimal waste, to reduce usage and to ensure every items produces can be recycled, repair, reused and composted.
The activity during this program is delivering of compost bins to the school & canteen and briefing on compost method by Syarikat Sri Gunung.
Among party that involved were Council Members, Penyelia Kanan HEM Pejabat Daerah Hulu Langat, Teachers, school canteen, Syarikat Pembinaan Sri Gunung and Kajang Municipal Council.
It is hoped that this program could help on preserving the nature and could benefits in terms of daily and operation cost saving.
