Selangor SMART Bus and i-Kajang Application Opening Ceremony

4th January 2016 (Monday), 10 am at Kompleks Hentian Kajang, Jalan Reko, Kajang Municipal Council has organized Selangor SMART Bus and i-Kajang Application Opening Ceremony. The ceremony officiated by Y.A.B Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Bin Ali, Selangor Chief Minister and witnessed by Y.B Dato, Mohd Amin Bin Ahmad Ahya, Y.B Selangor State Secretary, Y.B Dato, Teng Chang Khim - Chang Khim-Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Tetap Pelaburan, Perindustrian & Perdgangan, Industri Kecil & Sederhana (IKS) Dan Pengangkutan Negeri Selangor, Y.B. Tuan Zaidy Bin Abdul Talib-Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Tetap Infrastruktur & Kemudahan Awam, Pemodenan Pertanian Dan Industri Asas Tani Negeri Selangor, Tuan Nor Azmie Bin Diron-Timbalan Setiausaha Kerajaan (Pembangunan), Y.B. Dr. Che Rosli Bin Che Mat-Ahli Parlimen Hulu Langat, Y.B. Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Binti Wan Ismail-Adun N25 Kajang, Y.B. Tuan Mohd Shafie Bin Ngah-Adun N26 Bangi, Y.B. Bhd, District Engineers, Directors from agency/department of Government and public. i-Kajang Application was launched by Y.A.B Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Bin Ali with a video display about this application. Then, the Chief Minister and guests have ride with the new Selangor SMART Bus.

Selangor SMART Bus service aims to reduce traffic congestion in the high population city. Apart of that, the service intended to encourage and educate public to use public transport to reduce personal vehicle. This service also as an initiative of government state to reduce cost living of Selangor people.

While for i-Kajang Application, it encourage public to logged complaints using application thru smart phone if there any problem with regards to infrastructures, cleanliness and many more. Besides that, it is hoped that this application could increase the quality of MPKj service with more efficient.

MPKj Selangor SMART Bus service, the passing route has 15 stops (9.4KM) and the return route has 19 stops (10.KM) with total of 34 stops (20.2 KM). Estimated time for passing route is 28 minutes and return route is 40 minutes with the total of 68 minutes. The frequency estimated around 15 to 20 minutes with 4 buses operated from 6 am until 10 pm daily.

This route covers low cost residence area, government office, hospital service, MRT station, bus terminal, and taxi, school, college and area with yet to have a bus service by private sector.

MPKj Selangor SMART Bus with one route and allocation of 4 buses and 1 standby bus (emergency). The operation costs is RM 1,241,472.00 including GST (1 year). Business Model that given for 12 meter bus is RM800.00 per day for 1 bus. This service successfully realizable with the allocation by Selangor State Government to MPKj.
