On 31st December 2016, Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) with the collaboration of Economy Planning Unit (UPEN), Tourism Selangor (TSSB) and Dusun Tua Cycling Team (DTCT) has organized cycling King of Mountain 2016 (KOM PERAS 2016). The event for the first time held at Hulu Langat District and attracted cycler from inside and outside Malaysia to join KOM 2016.
Opening Ceremony officiated by En Kamaruzzaman Bin Salimin, Head of MPKj Corporate And Community Development Department as MPKj Yang DiPertua representative. The program intended to promote Hulu Langat as tourism destination and also cycling sport (Sport Tourism).
King of Mountain is a cycling competition specifically on hill climbing where the finishing event at the peak of Genting Peras near to Negeri Sembilan border. The distance is 34km staring from Batu 18 heading to Sg. Tekali and ended at peak of Genting Peras. This program also collaborates with Traffic Police from Ibu Pejabat Polis Kajang, Malaysia Civil Defence Force (JPAM), Kajang Health Office and corporate company.
