Single Mother Mini Carnival 2016 was held on 4th September 2016 (Sunday) and successfully attracts 1000 visitor to come at the briefing and interview session at Kajang Municipal Council Sports Complex (MPKj). The program with theme “Memperkasa Ekonomi and Kesejahteraan Sosial” organized by Ministry of Human Resource with the collaboration of Kajang Municipal Council and a few other Ministry Department Government Agencies and Society that represent single mother is Persatuan Pekerja Wanita Malaysia (PERWANIS), Persatuan Ibu Tunggal Kebangsaan (PITKM), Persatuan Kebajikan Ibu Tuggal Islam Malaysia (PAKIT) Persatuan Kebajikan Inspirasi Global Malaysia (PRINGMAS) Persatuan Suri Kreatif Innovatif (SURI) and Women Association of Delvelopment & Innovation (WADI).
Opening ceremony of Single Mother Mini Carnival 2016 was officiated by YBhg Dato’ Mohd Sahar Bin Darusman, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Dasar dan Antarabangsa) Ministry of Human Resource, watched by YBhg Dr Mohd Gazali Bin Abas, Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha (Operasi) and YBrs Tuan Mohd Sayuthi Bin Bakar Yang DiPertua Kajang Municipal Council, Puan Silam Hassan President of PERWANIS and YB Tuan Mohd Shafie Bin Ngah ADUN Bangi.
In accordance to Pelan Tindakan Pemerkasaan Ibu Tunggal 2015-2020 led by Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (MWFCD) and Ministry of Human Resource was appointed to prepare skills training that suitable to the single mother as they are also contributing as work resources in improving nation economic development in employment sector. Job interviews for the single mother and their children handled by JobsMalaysia, Human Resource Department attended by 525 people; Man: 85, Woman: 440. 109 people were being offered and second interview has been carried out by employer and 185 have success in the interview.
Single mother who were not passed has given the opportunity for the interview at the employer place. Among 15 employers that participate are Sushi Kin, Home Product Center (M) Sdn Bhd (Homepro), Aegis BPO (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Aeon), Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, Jabatan Perangkaan Cawangan Kajang, Harta Maintenance Sdn Bhd, Golden Archers Restaurant Sdn Bhd (Mc Donalds), Grand Companions, Mcat Box, Riang Ria Sdn Bhd @ Kidzania, Shazay Associates and Digital Content Alliance Sdn Bhd (e-rezeki).
A technical briefing title Business License and Stall Permit Application Procedure, Licensing and Hawking Department, Kajang Municipal Council was held for better understanding to run business at PBT-MPKj area. Briefing from other agencies such as Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah (JKSM), Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK), Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB), Jabatan Tenaga Manusia, Jabatan Bantuan Guaman (JBG) and Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM).
During Single Mother Mini Carnival (IT), there was slot of Bicara Ikon Ibu Tunggal by YBhg Dato’ Hajah Faridah Bt Abd Jabar, Yang Dipertua Usahanita and Bikers IT. Among attractive activity was sale booth by single mother. There were also DIY exhibition by NGO related to waste recycling invited by Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Department (JPSPPA) MPKj which are Pertubuhan Amal Seri Sinar (PASS), Community Recycle Charity (CRC) and Life Line Clothing. It is hoped that all government agencies, local authority and NGO could promote the role and responsibility in helping the community including single mother.
