Dengue Preventive Awareness Program – Free Dengue Community (KOMBAD)

This awareness program is one of the targets that have been set by Community Division, Community Development Department. JPM with the collaboration of UKM and Entogenex to run Dengue Preventive Awareness Program which before this was held via program such as talk, gotong royong, brochure distribution, abate usage, door to door visit and many more. However, dengue cases still high in district of Hulu Langat. UKM and Entogenex held a research regarding the effectiveness of the awareness campaign that has been carried out before. 100 adults were chosen to participate in this research. For information, 3 locations that involved in the program are Taman Kantan Permai, Kajang Bangi Perdana Seksyen 3, Bandar Baru Bangi and Community Society Seksyen Prima, Bandar Baru Bangi.

At the same time the program filled with a few activities to liven up the program. Kids’ activity is coloring contest. 2 categories with 6 prizes and Giant Dam Contest whereby 4 groups participate. For teenagers, Community Society has organized explorace whereby they have to search and identify subject or things or material that related to community.

Talk with regards to education in culinary field delivered by Tuan Haji Harun bin Nordin, CEO of Kagumas. He also shared his experience in creating a culinary syllabus for special kids and dyslexia. Exhibition from JPSSPA showing information about Aedes and brochure.

To brighten the program, lucky draw was held. Before the program ended, the contest prizes delivered by JPM representative, Community Society and UKM. As a token of appreciation and commitment, Entogenex giveaway 100 unit homekit to all 100 participants who were involved in the research.
