Social Welfare Office (PKMD) Hulu Langat District together with agencies such as Kajang Municipal Council, Kajang Police, Islamic Religious Office Hulu Langat, Selangor Islamic Religious Council, Hulu Langat National Anti-Drug Agency, Health Office Hulu Langat District and Lembaga Zakat Selangor Branch Kajang and Bangi had organized Integrated Operation to Save Poverty / Beggar in the Month of Ramadhan 2016 on 14th June 2016 (Tuesday). Kajang Stadium as an operational room for agency briefing and documentation process of poverty / beggar that has been saved.
The objective of this integrated operation that has been carried out for the first time for this year is to ensure that Selangor Free Beggar by decree Sultan of Selangor. At 4pm, agency briefing conducted by Enforcement Officer Hulu Langat Social Welfare Office, Puan Siti Noraishah Binti Mad Amin as Head of Operation on that day.
Operation implementation group were divided based on Ramadhan Bazaar location such as Bazar Ramadhan Prima Saujana, Bazar Ramadhan Taman Putra Kajang, Bazar Ramadhan Batu 13 Jalan Cheras, Bazar Ramadhan Bandar Baru Bangi, Bazar Ramadhan PKNS, Bazar Ramadhan Seksyen 4, Bazar Ramadhan Seksyen 7, Bazar Ramadhan Pekan Semenyih, Bazar Ramadhan Tesco Semenyih, Rinching, Bazar Ramadhan Tasik Kesuma, Bazar Ramadhan Sungai Long, Bazar Ramadhan Batu 9 Cheras dan Bazar Ramadhan Dusun Nanding.
Total of poverty/beggar that has been saved were 19 person which is, non citizen category total of 5 person, UNHCR (United Nation High Commissioner for Refugees: 5person (Adult: 2, Kids: 3). Non citizen Category other than UNHCR is 3 person (Pakistan Man Adult: 1, Cambodia Man Adult: 1 Thailand: 1). While Citizen category is 11 person consists of Disable: 1, Fund-Raiser Man Adult: 10.
In conclusion the Integrated Operation to Save Poverty / Beggar carried out by Hulu Langat Social Welfare Office together with the government agencies, there were 10 fund-raiser handed to Islamic Religious Office Hulu Langat, 3 were free with warns (1: OKU + 2 Pakistanis), 5 person handed to UNHCE (Adult: 2, Kids: 3), Beggar Vietnam Citizen (Disable) handed to Immigration Department.
It is hoped that such operation could increase awareness to the beggar and including public not to give the donation to the poverty/beggar that did not get the approval by the local authority such as Selangor Islamic Religious Council or Islamic Religious Office, Police and the consent of the Local Authority.
