Ponggal Festival Program was held organized by MPKj Zone 20 Council Member, En. Hanafi Bin Jalalludin with Semenyih Community Leader and NGO Dewi. The program was also attended by Encik Ramachandran MPP Zone 21, Puan Fizura Hanim MPP Zone 14, Tuan Ins Sahar Head of Semenyih Police Station and representatives of residents' associations and KRT around MPP Zone 20 as well as community leaders located in Semenyih Sentral.
The program received a very lively response when participants of various nationalities attended dressed in traditional Indian attire such as saree. A total of 30 pots were successfully cooked and involved around almost 100 participants. Each and every one exposed the history of Indian cultural customs and experience for themselves on how to cook Pongal. In addition, there was also a Pecah Periuk game activity which was well received and lively.
Hopefully with such program can foster the spirit of unity of the diversity of races, especially the community in Selangor.
