Kajang Women and Family Fiesta 2016 celebration was held on 5th Mac 2016 (Saturday) at Metropoint Kajang Complex. The program organized by People Community Service Dun Kajang and Exco Women Affairs and Family of Selangor with the collaboration of Pusat Wanita Berdaya (PWB) and Kajang Municipal Council. Kajang Women and Family Fiesta 2016 was organized to celebrate community especially women in conjunction with Women’s Day on 8th Mac 2016.
There are a lot of competition that involves kids, women and family. 6 competition carried out are Beauty Mama, Cake and Cupcakes Decoration, Colouring, Tricky Puzzle, Henna Mehndi Painting and ‘Karok Family’. Zumba and Line Dance also were held and ‘Tarian Kipas’ by Wonder Stars Group and ‘Tarian Majmuk’ performance by PDK Kajang (Down Syndrome and Autism Trainer). Apart of that, a knowledge session for entrepreneurs, traders and hawkers by Mikro-Upen Mara are Development and Motivation for Entrepreneurs from Yayasan Hijrah Selangor and Financial Mastering Programme (FMP), Business Foundation Briefing from Companies Commission of Malaysia, Briefing ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor’ from Rantaian Mesra Sdn Bhd and Environmentally Friendly Food Container Campaign Briefing from Syarikat FA Madani Enterprise.
The fiesta was officiated by Y.B Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping, Exco Pelancongan, Alam Sekitar, Teknologi Hijau dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna Negeri Selangor and Ahli Dewan Negeri Kajang, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Among present at the fiesta were Ahli Parlimen Hulu Langat, ADUN Bangi, Penyelaras Khidmat Masyarakat Dun Semenyih, Tuan Pegawai Daerah dan Tanah Hulu Langat, Pengurus Besar MKH Berhad and MPKj Council Member.
In conjunction with Kajang Women & Family Fiesta 2016, Kajang Plaza Medical Centre (KPMC) organized health screening for women and family and breast examination for free. Beside that, Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (YAWAS) open a counter for Tabungan Warisan Anak Selangor (TAWAS), MES counter by Rantaian Mesra Sdn Bhd (RMSB), Perbadanan Perpustakaan Selangor membership registration campaign, Azmi Caricaturist and Safer Kids (NGO). It is hoped that Women’s Day celebration will be continued next year.
