In conjunction with Mid Year School Holiday 2016 on 28th May 2016 (Saturday) Kajang Municipal Council has organized a recreational program specifically for the secondary school teenagers ‘Teens Exploration to Village 2016’ at Fishing Pool Tasik Semata Indah, Kg Kuala Beranang and PLKN Millennium Camp.
There are 30 teenagers consists of MPP Zone 2, MPP Zone 15, MPP Zone 19, teenagers participant representative from Pejabat Penyelaras Dun Semenyih, participants from Pejabat JMB Apartment Taman Impian Ehsan and child of Kajang Hospital staff participated in this 1 day program organized by Kajang Municipal with the collaboration of Pejabat Penyelaras Dun Semenyih and Lembaga Zakat Selangor Kajang Branch.
The program intended to expose the recreational activity and out-door activities to the targeted teenagers’ age between 13 to 17 years old. Besides that, there are also spiritually slots and motivation counseling and mind therapy to help the teenager to overcome emotional upheaval and depression.
Morning session begins with warming up exercise and stretching. After that they walked to the PLKN Millennium Camp Beranang to do sports activity. Participants were test on their physical endurance by the PLKN Millennium coaches to strengthen their hand and leg muscles. The program continues with 1 hour Fishing Tiger Prawn and the heaviest catch will be announced as Winner of Fishing Tiger Prawn at Fishing Pond Tasik Semata Indah. The benefits from the fishing activity are the participants learned skills of fishing prawn and testing their patients.
Next activities are Ice-Braking Colour Emotion and Drawing slot by the teenagers. They learn the arts skill and sensation and basic colors. Positive Mind slot is a spiritual talk session sponsored by Lembaga Zakat Selangor Kajang Branch that instill motivation elements “BIG WHY” where we could heart-searching the teenager so that community more sensitive towards the progress level of the children emotions and minds.
In the afternoon session, the teenagers were taught on self-defense technique named SURVIVOR DEFENSE by Master Chin from TYC Taekwando. This basic learning of self-defense used by the MPKj enforcement member, therefore the teenagers know the defense from Local Enforcement – MPKj. At the end of the program, the participants have the opportunity to present their karaoke singing and prize giving ceremony by Ahli Majlis Zon MPP 19 Puan Haja Zainun Binti Haji Samah and Datuk Penghulu Mukim Beranang.
It is hoped that this Exploration program could give some benefits and new spirit to the teenagers to stay healthy and quality lifestyle.
